Harvey wins second medal in three days at worlds

For the second time in three days, cross-country skier Alex Harvey is headed to the podium at the Nordic World Ski Championships, this time with a bronze medal in skiathlon.

On Thursday, the two-time Olympian was involved in an incredible finish in the men’s sprint, just running out of space in the 1.4 kilometre course at the finish line to take silver.

After a day off to recover, Harvey was back on the course in Falun, Sweden on Saturday in the skiathlon, a 30 km event that combines the classic and skating techniques.

Harvey led the pack for much of the race, before dropping back in the final lap. His endurance however, allowed him to climb back to a medal position for his second trip to the podium in three days with a bronze medal. Maxim Vylegzhanin of Russia won gold, while Switzerland’s Dario Cologna took silver.

More to come.
