Yuki Tsubota and Alex Bellemare each win bronze at SFR Freestyle tour event in France

Slopestyle skiers Yuki Tsubota and Alex Bellemare earned bronze medals today for their performances at an SFR Freestyle Tour event in France.

The La Clusaz stop is recognized by the Association of Freeskiing Professionals and is a platinum-level event on their 2015 AFP World Tour.

Tsubota, a 21-year-old Sochi Olympian, was bettered by Estonia’s Kelly Sidaru who won and Switzerland’s runner-up, Giulia Tanno.

On the men’s side, the United States went 1-2 in slopestyle competition with McRae Williams winning and Gus Kenworthy ranking second. Flip those names around, (Kenworthy then Williams) and you have the top-2 men as of February 25th according to the AFP World Rankings. Saint-Boniface, QC’s Alex Bellemare, third in the La Clusaz contest is also third in those rankings, again, updated to February 25th, 2015.

Merci à tous pour cette grande finale !! Que du bonheur ! https://t.co/EoW4HV9sEz
