(ISN) – Kennewick, WA- The Tri-City Americans (28-34-0-3, 59 pts) worked hard to earn two points on Friday night, but came up just short, losing to the Everett Silvertips (39-19-3-4, 85 pts) in front of 4,225 at Toyota Center.
Each team had a good amount of scoring chances in the first period, as the shots were tied at nine. But Everett was able to get on the board, as Remi Laurencelle fired a shot that found its way into the goal for a 1-0 lead after the first period.
The second period was dominated by the Silvertips, as Everett outshot Tri-City 17-5 in the period. Both goalies played well in the period to keep the score at 1-0 going into the third period.
In the third period, Tri-City pressed to get the tying goal, earning some solid chances to put the puck in the net. Everett’s Carter Hart was up to the task, stopping every shot that came his way to lead the Silvertips to the victory.
The two teams split the season series with five wins each.
