Victoria downed 4-3 by Prince George on the four game roadie



(ISN) – Prince George, BC- The Victoria Royals dropped a 4-3 decision to the Prince George Cougars as the home team scored four unanswered goals in the victory on Friday night at the CN Centre.

The Royals led 2-0 before the Cougars’ Josh Connolly cued the four-goal comeback with a marker in the second period. Jari Erricson, Brad Morrison and Kody McDonald would all tally for Prince George in the final frame. Victoria’s Greg Chase scored late in the third period on the powerplay, but the visiting side were unable to find the equalizer. The Royals’ other markers both came on the man advantage from Alex Forsberg and Travis Brown.

Victoria netminder Justin Paulic turned aside 33 of the 37 shots he faced, while Prince George goaltender Ty Edmonds stopped 34 of 37 shots.

The Royals went 3/6=50.0% on the man advantage and the Cougars went 1/4=25.0%.

Victoria continues their four-game road trip tomorrow night with another clash against the Prince George Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The Royals will cap off the road swing with stops in Kelowna against the Rockets on Wednesday, March 11th and Vancouver vs. the Giants on Friday, March 13th.

The Royals will then return home the following night for a two-game set against the Vancouver Giants on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th.
