Diane Creech Named February Dressage Canada Red Scarf Athlete of the Month

Ottawa, Ont. Mar. 9, 2015 — Diane Creech of Caistor Centre, Ont. has been awarded the Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for February, based on her impressive results in Wellington, Fla. aboard three mounts.  

Creech, a dressage veteran who was named to the Dressage Canada ‘B’ short list for 2015, has been a mainstay in both the Small and Big Tour classes during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Wellington, Fla.

To start the season, Creech and Devon L (De Niro X Wolkenstein II), a 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding, co-owned by Douglas Leatherdale and Leatherdale Farms, earned great scores at the AGDF CDI-W, held Jan. 22-25. They earned 67.540% for 13th place in the FEI Grand Prix and 68.257% for 12th place in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle.

In the Small Tour, Creech had multiple top 10 finishes on two additional mounts. With Douglas Leatherdale’s 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding Robbie W, sired by Rubin Royal, she finished third in the FEI Prix St. Georges (71.526%) and second in the FEI Intermediate I (73.368%). Riding Hallmark (His Highness X Lancier), an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding also owned by Leatherdale, Creech earned a score of 69.632% in the FEI Prix St. Georges for seventh place, as well as 63.763% for eighth place in the FEI Intermediate I.
