(ISN) – On March 24, 2015 at 6pm, at Archie Browning Sports Complex, hockey players from the Victoria Police Department and the Saanich Police Department will face off in a game for bragging rights, and to raise money for Special Olympics of British Columbia.
What initially started off as a low-key challenge from one team to the other has grown into a more involved event. The two teams, the Victoria Police Capitals and the Saanich Police Watchdogs, will play sixty minutes of hockey to determine a winner. This is the 7th game according to the inscriptions on the trophy.
Senior Management from both organizations have embraced this opportunity to build camaraderie and have also issued a challenge: the Administration of the losing team will hoist and fly the winning Department’s flag in front of the losing team’s office for the weekend following the game.
The event will take place on March 24, 2015 at the Archie Browning Sports Complex (1151 Esquimalt Road, Victoria, BC V9A 3N6). Admission to the event will be by donation and all monies will be presented to Special Olympics of British Columbia.
Cliff LeQuesne from 100.3The’Q’ will be the honorary Master of Ceremonies again.
Saanich Police mascot “Ace” will be there for the kids.
There will also be a chance for door prizes for those who donate.
Saanich Police Chief DOWNIE and Victoria Police Deputy Chief MANEK are scheduled for a ceremonial face-off as well.
Hope to see you there!
