(ISN) – PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced today the following medical update on shortstop Chris Taylor.
Chris Taylor has been diagnosed with a fracture of the triquetrum bone in his right wrist. He is expected to be in a brace for 7 to 10 days, and then will begin a more aggressive treatment regimen. He could be able to perform baseball activities in four to six weeks.
Taylor was struck in the wrist by a pitch in the 6th inning of yesterday’s (Friday, March 13) game versus the Milwaukee Brewers by pitcher Jim Henderson. Taylor remained in the game, and singled up the middle, but was removed after the base hit for a pinch runner.
Taylor was examined today by Mariners Medical Director, Dr. E. Edward Khalfayan. The exam revealed the injury.
