(ISN) – PENTICTON, BC –The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) announced today Penticton Vees Forward Demico Hannoun is the Player of the Week, for the week ending March 15th.
Hannoun led all BCHL scorers last week with a goal and six assists in three Vees wins. In the fifth and deciding game against West Kelowna last Monday, Hannoun had three assists and was named the Fortis Energy Player of the Game in a 7-0 win over the Warriors. Hannoun then had an assist in a game one win over Vernon Saturday, and followed that up with a goal and three points and first star honours in Sunday night’s 5-2 win.
The North Delta, BC, product leads the Vees in playoff scoring with three goals and 10 points in six games. The 2013 Fred Page Cup champion has 12 goals, 26 assists for 38 points in 51 career BCHL playoff games. Hannoun has played in the last to RBC Cup championships with the Surrey Eagles and Vernon Vipers respectively.
Vees defenseman Dante Fabbro was a runner-up for the Player of the Week award. Fabbro had two goals and four points in three games last week and was named the first star in Saturday’s 4-3 double-overtime win over Vernon.
The Vees and Vernon Vipers resume their best-of-seven division final tomorrow in Vernon at Kal-Tire Place; puck drop is 7pm.
