Ottawa, Ont., March 18, 2015 — Ashley Holzer and Dressed In Black continued their successful streak at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Wellington, Fla., which held its 10th consecutive week of high level competition from March 11-15, 2015.

Once again competing in the Big Tour, Holzer, a Toronto, Ont. native currently living in New York, N.Y., earned back-to-back fourth place finishes against top international competitors aboard her 10-year-old Westphalian stallion, Dressed In Black (Dressemann x Sweetheart).

She started out by earning a score of 70.640% in the FEI Grand Prix on March 12, followed by an even more impressive score of 73.650% in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle on March 13.

Also with a strong finish for Canada in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle was Karen Pavicic of Surrey, B.C. Riding Don Daiquiri (Cardinale x Rubenstein I), a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding she owns in partnership with Jayne Essig, Pavicic placed sixth with a score of 72.600%.

Canada’s top results in the Small Tour came from Tina Irwin of Stouffville, Ont., who put in spectacular performances aboard Fancy That (Donnerschweg x Freiherr), a nine-year-old Oldenburg mare owned by Christine Faux. Together, they earned top six finishes throughout the week, capped off with a big win after earning a score of 74.375% in the FEI Intermediate I Freestyle on March 15.

“I am very excited to have won the freestyle,” said Irwin. “The canter pirouettes are a definite highlight for us, and I have four of them in the freestyle, which adds to the degree of difficulty score. I’m thrilled with our development and progress throughout the Florida season.”
