(ISN) – VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks will hold their 25th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon, presented by Chevrolet, on Tuesday, March 24th when the Vancouver Canucks face the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Arena. Last year’s Telethon raised more than $470,000 for the Canucks for Kids Fund, supporting children’s charities across BC. This year’s Telethon includes several new elements, including a national television audience on Sportsnet with Hockey Night in Canada host George Stroumboulopoulos and Scott Oake of Sportsnet.
The Telethon officially begins early Tuesday morning and will air on TSN 1040 Sports Radio from 6:00 a.m. until Midnight. The television broadcast airs on Sportsnet from 6:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature numerous stories highlighting the special bond between the children of British Columbia and Canucks players, coaches, staff and alumni. Youth host Suneil Samra will also return for the fourth straight year Canucks wives, significant others, sponsor partners, Canucks for Kids Fund Directors and volunteers will be taking donations by phone at 1-85-KIDSFUND (1-855-437-3863) on the celebrity panel. Donations will also be accepted at the game, where volunteers will collect contributions during the latter half of the first period in the arena. Fans can also go to Canucks.com to donate online.
All Telethon donors who contribute by midnight on March 24th will have a chance to win a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, the Motor Trend Truck of the Year, donated by Chevrolet (contest details on Canucks.com). The Canucks for Kids Fund gratefully acknowledges the support of Chevrolet, Rogers, Fasken Martineau, Sportsnet, TSN 1040 and the Vancouver Sun. Donors who give $100 will receive an exclusive “We are Family” line-up picture. For donations of $150 or more, donors will also receive the second “We are Family” photo featuring Pat Quinn and Trevor Linden on draft day.
Sportsnet’s broadcast of the March 24th game and Telethon will also be streamed online at Canucks.com. Fans can watch the live broadcast on Canucks.com, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
