Leslie Reid Lights Up Small Tour Leaderboard at Capistrano Dressage International in California

Ottawa, Ont., March 24, 2015 — Leslie Reid of Langley, B.C. was a regular sight on the Small Tour leaderboard at the CDI-W Capistrano Dressage International, held March 19-22 in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Reid, a Canadian Olympian who also has individual and team gold medals from the Pan American Games under her belt, competed two horses in the Small Tour.

Her highest achievement came aboard Fine and Smart (Fuerst Piccolo x Worldman), an 11-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Juliet Sears Ledorze. Together, they took seventh place in the CDI Prix St. Georges on a score of 68.368% and earned a score of 70.500% for second place in the CDI Intermediate I. In addition, they finished on a high note, scoring 70.475% for fourth place in the CDI Intermediate I Freestyle.

Aboard her second mount, Landor (Largow x Tamara), a nine-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Deryol Andrews, Reid rounded out the top 10 in the CDI Prix St. Georges after scoring 68.237%. The duo improved upon that score in the CDI Intermediate I, earning 68.974% for seventh place.

“I am very happy with my horses, as they are proving to be up to the challenge in these good classes,” commented Reid. “It is a very competitive atmosphere, with so many top horses here.”

Also in the ribbons was fellow Canadian, Briget Martin of Vancouver, B.C., who rode Teodoro (Niagara x Wellington), a 15-year-old gelding owned by Karen Robinson, to a seventh place finish (68.600%) in the CDI Intermediate I Freestyle.
