(ISN) – COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey program, under the direction of head coach Anne Wilkinson, placed nine players on the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
It marks the ninth-consecutive season the Buckeyes have had at least nine members named to the national academic list. In addition, the Buckeyes were recognized by Gladiator and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with the National Academic Team Award for achieving a team grade-point average above 3.0.
Freshmen Lauren Archibald, Natalie Faust, Erin Hoover, Annabel Sams, Liz Tamburro, redshirt freshman Chelsea Quinn, Maggie Reddecliff, sophomore Georgia Thomas and redshirt junior Sydney Stype all earned the accolade. For Reddecliff and Quinn, it is their second consecutive honor, while Stype is on the list for the third year in a row.
The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.
