Limestone comes back late against Lewis to advance to semifinals


SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — After trailing for nearly all of the game’s first 30 minutes, the Limestone Saints (34-1) stormed back from an eight-point deficit and defeated the Lewis Flyers (31-3) at the Sanford Pentagon on Tuesday night by a score of 61-58.

The win clinches a berth in the semifinals against Cal Baptist Wednesday.

Five Saints scored in double figures as senior guard Morgan Brown, senior guard Jasmine Kearse and senior guard Ayshia McNeil each scored 12.

The Flyers took three shots from beyond the arc in the game’s final seconds in an attempt to tie, but each shot missed the mark and time ran out with Limestone in the lead.
