When the final rock was cleared at Olds Curling Club Friday evening, the stage had been set for an exciting round of Saturday playoffs.
On the women’s side, three schools were tied at the top after round robin with a record of 5-2.
The Semi Final begin at 4pm, with NAIT Ooks taking on the Fanshawe Falcons.
The Humber Hawks prevailed through tie-breaking procedures and will take on the winner for CCAA Gold.
The men’s side… not so simple. And if you want to be the best… well, you’ll have to beat just that. A tight finish in the standings can only mean a true fight to the finish with such an abundance of competitive play between teams.
Three teams tied at the top with records of 5-2.
The host Olds Broncos and Sault Cougars are still alive… and will kick off the day in the first Saturday tie-breaker.
The winner of the first tie-breaker goes on to face Fanshawe Falcons at 12pm in the next round.
The winner of (SAULT/OLDS) vs. Fanshawe Falcons will play Fleming Knights in the semi final.
MacEwan Griffins have secured a medal that is one of two colours… which one will be determined. They await the winner of (SAULT/OLDS/FANSHAWE) vs Fleming.
