VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds placed third at the Montana State Bobcat Spring Invitational at the Tres Rios Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz.
The competition began on Monday with two rounds before concluding on Tuesday. UBC finished at 63-over par with a three-round total of 927 (308-311-308). The only non-NCAA Division I school in the competition, the Thunderbirds ended up 28 strokes behind winning school Grand Canyon.

Catherine Rousseau (Quebec City) was 12th alongside teammate Reagan Wilson (Calgary), who was playing as an individual, meaning her result didn’t count towards the UBC team score. Both T-Birds recorded a score of 16-over 232. Rousseau shot 79 and 77 on Monday before concluding the tournament with a 4-over 76 on Tuesday. Wilson went 77-78-77.
Kat Kennedy (Okotoks, Alta.) moved up into a tie for 15th after a final round of 5-over 77 to end up at 18-over 234. She carded rounds of 78 and 79 on the first day.

The Bobcat Spring Invitational is the last event for UBC before the Association of Independent Institutions conference championship April 27-28 in Victoria, Texas.
