Continued Success in California for Canada’s Leslie Reid

Ottawa, Ont., March 31, 2015 – Leslie Reid of Langley, B.C. has continued to build upon her recent success on the California circuit in San Juan Capistrano.

At the latest competition, the CDI3* Festival of the Horse, held March 25-28, the Canadian Olympian once more contested the Small Tour with impressive results.

Riding Fine and Smart (Fuerst Piccolo x Worldman), an 11-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Juliet Sears Ledorze, Reid started the week on a high note, taking second place in the CDI Prix St.

Georges after earning a score of 70.921% – which represented an increase of over 2.5% over their CDI Prix St. Georges score at the CDI-W Capistrano Dressage International the previous week. The pair also earned fourth place (68.395%) in the CDI Intermediate I.

“I am really pleased with my result with Fine and Smart,” said Reid. “He is a beautiful horse and his quality is just starting to be rewarded. I would like to thank his owner, Juliet, for her enthusiasm and support toward his competition program.”

Paired with a second mount, Landor (Largow x Tamara), a nine-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Deryol Andrews, Reid also finished fifth in the CDI Intermediate Freestyle on a score of 68.275%.

Also riding to a great result in the CDI Intermediate Freestyle was fellow British Columbia native, Wendy Christoff of Delta, who finished ahead of Reid in fourth place after scoring 68.875%. Christoff’s partner was her 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Di Scansano (De Niro x Rubenstein).
