(ISN) – The 2015 Sport Chek Air Nation took place this past week in Whistler Blackcomb’s Nintendo Terrain Park. Competitive snowboard slopestyle athletes from accross the country battled for the National Title.

The Open category was dominated by Max Eberhardt, from North Bay Ont., and Laurie Blouin, from Stoneham, Que,. The riders were faced with challenging conditions as fog rolled in and out of the pristine Blackcomb park. The conditions did not, however, seem to affect Max as he stepped up and gapped to frontside lipslide on the notoriously lenghty down flat down feature to start his second and final run.

On Saturday, junior men’s qualifying took place as well as the women’s final. Océane Fillion from Saguenay, Que., tackled the technical rail line with ease as she cruised her way to the top. On the men’s side, Jeremy Langevin from Piedmont, Que., carried his momentum from the men’s open slopestyle into the junior course, and finished victorious. It was Jeremy’s first showing at the Sport Chek Air Nation National Slopestyle Championships.

The 2015 Sport Chek Air Nation Slopestyle National Championships were a great success, in large part due to our resort partner, Whistler Blackcomb. Their contribution was very much appreciated by Canada Snowboard and the athletes.
