(ISN) – PEORIA, Ariz. – Right fielder Avisail Garcia went 3-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBI to lead the White Sox to a 12-4 victory over the Mariners Wednesday afternoon in Cactus League play at Peoria Stadium.

The Mariners dropped to 11-17-2 in the final Cactus League game of the spring. Seattle will wrap up the spring schedule with a pair of exhibition games Friday (7:05 pm in Peoria) and Saturday (12:10 pm in Scottsdale) vs. the Rockies. The 2015 season opener is Monday, April 6 vs. the Los Angeles Angels at Safeco Field.

The White Sox scored in each of the first four innings to build a 10-1 lead. Garcia recorded a 2-run single in the 2nd inning and a 2-run home run off relief pitcher Dominic Leone in the 4th inning.

Starting pitcher James Paxton (1-2) took the loss allowing 10 hits and 7 runs in 3.1 innings. Closer Fernando Rodney allowed one hit in his scoreless outing (1.0 IP), and has not allowed a run in 8 appearances this spring (7.2 IP).

Center fielder Austin Jackson went 2-for-3 with a double, raising his spring batting average to .351 (20×57).

The White Sox out-hit the Mariners 22-10 en route to the victory.
