(ISN) – Pacific Cycling Centre is excited to announce a new team member – Callie Swan – for the 2015 season. Callie is from Prince George with a background in speed skating. She recently qualified for the Canada Winter Games Short Track Team in Prince George.

Callie has been cycling for three years while training for speed skating, but she hasn’t raced before. “I enjoy both speed skating and cycling, and my current focus is learning road and track racing,” she said. “I am very excited to have been selected for the Dr. Walker Sports Chiropractic Cycling Team, and to being coached by Houshang Amiri. My experience with the team has been positive and professional.”

During the 2014 – 2015 speed skating season in Richmond, BC she was the Western Canadian Single Distance Champion in the 500m and 1500m, and in the 2014 BC Winter Games she was first in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m events.

Callie is following in her hero’s footsteps – Clara Hughes – by taking on cycling as well as speed skating. “My cycling goals for this upcoming season are to experience road and track racing, while learning skills and meeting new people,” she said.
