Trinity Western’s women’s track and field team opened its outdoor season

(ISN) – VANCOUVER – Trinity Western’s women’s track and field team opened its outdoor season on Friday with several strong performances at the UBC Invitational at the Rashpal Dhillon Track & Field Oval.

On a rainy and windy day, the Spartans Rachel Shuttleworth (Surrey, B.C.) and Hazel Ross (Bishopton, Scotland) both finished first in their respective events as Shuttleworth won the 400m in 57.79 and Ross topped the 100m hurdles field in 14.43.

 

The Spartans will now prepare to compete in the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Championships, which will be hosted in Rome, Georgia from April 30 to May 2.
