(ISN) – KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory, in conjunction with USA Hockey, announced today that 17-year-old goaltender, Evan Sarthou, has been named to Team USA that will compete at the 2015 IIHF U-18 World Championships from April 16-26 in Switzerland.
“Evan had a great season developing with our team,” Tory said. “This is a tremendous accomplishment for him representing his country. These experiences will help him prepare for next season as our starter entering into his NHL draft season.”
Sarthou, a 6’1 180-lb netminder from Black Diamond, WA, just finished his second season with the Americans, appearing in 28 games and collecting a 11-15-0-2 record, along with a 3.1 goals against average and a 0.906 save percentage. Evan recorded seven shutouts this season, one shy of the single season record set by Carey Price.
Team USA will compete in Group A with Germany, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden.
