SWIMMING CANADA AND CANADAS DAIRY FARMERS ENTER MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Ottawa, Ontario – Swimming Canada announced today a multi-year partnership with Canada’s dairy farmers.

“We are excited to welcome Canada’s dairy farmers as a new partner,” said Swimming Canada CEO Ahmed El-Awadi. “Canada’s dairy farmers have always had a strong passion for helping Canadians. We are honoured to have them help us grow and improve Canada’s women’s and girls’ swimming community.

Their sponsorship and investment shows their commitment to that passion.”

Through their new Fuelling Women Champions program, which was launched today, Canada’s dairy farmers will focus their sponsorship efforts on supporting Swimming Canada’s women and girls’ programs, athletes and events.

As part of the Fuelling Women Champions program, Canada’s dairy farmers will provide financial and promotional support to Swimming Canada’s women’s national team athletes, and to women and girls programs and events.

“We are excited to partner with Swimming Canada and to help them in their efforts to grow the sport of swimming across Canada,” said Wally Smith, a proud Canadian dairy farmer and president of Dairy Farmers of Canada.

Several key sports partners have come on board with the Fuelling Women Champions program, including Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS), Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) and Rugby Canada. In addition to supporting these sports associations, Fuelling Women Champions is also working with several of Canada’s top medal-winning female athletes, supporting them in their competitive efforts and also facilitating mentorship opportunities for them with young girls and women across the country.  As such, this program’s elite athlete ambassadors include Kaillie Humphries (bobsled), Jennifer Jones (curling), Chantal Petitclerc (wheelchair racing), Desiree Scott (soccer), and Natalie Spooner (hockey).
