Canucks Celebrate Gino Odjick

(ISN) – VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks remind fans of a special evening this Saturday, April 11 celebrating Gino Odjick, one of the most popular players in team history, on Fan Appreciation Night.

Few players connected with Canucks fans quite like Odjick and the final game of the regular season versus Edmonton offers an opportunity to rally behind him as he continues to battle a rare terminal disease called AL amyloidosis.

“Gino has always had a special relationship with the fans in this city and it’s fitting to honour him during our annual Fan Appreciation Night,” said Trevor Linden, Canucks President of Hockey Operations. “Last year Gino was diagnosed with a rare disease, but with the support of family, friends, and fans, he continues to stay strong and battle much like he did during his playing days. He is an inspiration to many and I expect we’ll hear the “Gino, Gino!” chant louder than ever on April 11th.” The evening’s salute to the fans includes numerous prizes, giveaways and the announcement of the 2014.15 season player awards, as voted by the fans. Several surprise guests will present the annual

Canucks team awards which include:

Cyclone Taylor Trophy, Most Valuable Player,

Babe Pratt Trophy, Best Defenceman,

Pavel Bure “Most Exciting Player” Award,

Fred J. Hume Award, Unsung Hero,
