Senior Timbermen Announce The Return of Three Key Defenders

(ISN) – The Nanaimo Senior A Timbermen are pleased to announce the return of veteran defenders Tyson Roe, Brandan Smith and Conrad Chapman.

All three were selected back to back to back in the 2014 WLA Draft. Tyson Roe was picked 12th overall, Smith was 13th and Chapman 14th.

Roe has actually been with the Tmen since 2013, and in his first full season last year had 8 points in 16 games. He was a call up in 2013 as a member of the Junior A Timbermen.

In his three years with the Juniors, Roe had 39 points in 58 games.

Tyson was selected 16th overall by the Calgary Roughnecks in the 2014 NLL Draft, and is currently on the team’s practice roster.

Brandan Smith joined the Tmen last year and had 5 assists after playing in all 18 games.

He was a three year Victoria Junior with 17 points and 116 penalty minutes in 40 games.

The Victoria product also played 80 games in the BC Hockey League with Powell River and was invited to the Vancouver Stealth NLL Training Camp last fall.

Conrad Chapman also played his rookie season in the WLA in 2014 and picked up 3 goals and 3 assists.

He spent his three years as a Junior playing alongside Smith in Victoria, picking up 60 points in 54 games.

The 6’6 Prince George native was selected 12th overall by the Vancouver Stealth in the 2014 NLL Draft and has 5 points in 8 games this season.

These three defenders will play a key role in keep opposition snipers off the scoresheet for the Tmen in 2015.
