Blue Jays roster move



(ISN) – The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have optioned LHP COLT HYNES to Buffalo of the International League (AAA) and have selected the contract of LHP JEFF FRANCIS from Buffalo.

FRANCIS, 34, is 1-0 this season after pitching five shutout innings in his first start of the season with Buffalo, allowing just two hits with two walks and five strikeouts.  The Vancouver, BC native is set to become the 22nd Canadian born player to appear in a game for the Blue Jays.  The 6-5, 200lb., left handed pitcher owns a Major League career record of 71-80 with a 4.95 ERA in 240 games with 217 starts over ten seasons.  (Francis stats:
