Trio of Veterans Commit to 2015 Season

Highlanders FC are pleased to announce three important signings for the 2015 Pacific Coast Soccer League season. Loyal supporters of Highlanders FC will recognize former professionals, Blair Sturrock, Riley O’Neil and Manny Gomez.

All three veterans return to the team for this coming PCSL season. The trio have professional playing experience in England, Scotland, Germany and Argentina.

Sturrock netted five goals in the 2014 season with Highlanders FC. “It is great to see the Highlanders are back and the bagpipes will sound at RAP again. I believe it is important to the local soccer community that high standard soccer is on show to entertain the fans and inspire young local talent and I am delighted to be part of the team”, commented Sturrock, returning for his third season.

O’Neil at 6’3” provides leadership in the middle of the park from the midfield position and looks to continue his form in his third season with the team. Gomez gave a little taste to the local fans last season having returned to Victoria after a professional career in South & Central America. Former Canadian Youth & National team member, he is sure to inspire and excite from the midfield.

Highlanders FC open with a double header weekend, Saturday May 2nd vs Kamloops Heat (4 pm kickoff) and Sunday May 3rd vs. Abbotsford Magnuson Ford SC (kick off at noon).
