The men were 2-0 on Saturday, winning in 1st div and 3rd div against Nanaimo. For the firsts, this was a critical Island semi-final match. A couple of last minute tries gave a comfortable 38-25 result, but it was a nailbiter through most of the match. They now advance to the Island final against Port Alberni. The 3rds had an exhibition match, also versus Nanaimo, as a curtain raiser for the 1sts with a 42-12 result.

We will have another double header at home this Saturday, with the 1sts and 3rds both vying for Island championships. The 3rds host Comox at 1pm, followed by the firsts (vs Port Alberni) at 2:45pm. The Premier women have a bye, and the 2nd div women travel to Nanaimo to play the Meralomas (Nanaimo also hosts the Lomas in 1st div).

The Annual General Meeting is this Thursday, April 23rd, at the Velox Clubhouse. All club members are encouraged to please attend for 8pm start.

The Velox Annual Awards banquet will be held on May 2nd, 2015. Cocktails will be at6:30pm followed by appetizers: a sit down dinner will not be offered this year in efforts to keep tickets affordable to all in our last year here.
