The BC Rugby weekend preview

It’s time for playoff rugby! This Saturday, the final four teams left standing in the Canadian Direct Insurance Premier League compete in the semi-finals.

UBC was the top team in the CDI regular season and defeated Burnaby Lake convincingly (46-29 and 36-8) in their two prior contests, but that will be irrelevant once their playoff game kicks off at Thunderbird Stadium. You can watch the live streaming coverage with Mike James onbcrugby.com/live at 2:45pm.

On Vancouver Island, UVic has been clinical in their ascent up the league tables, finishing in second place. They’ll bring a strong, seasoned lineup to face a Caps team that has been battered by injury in recent weeks. UVic won both meetings this season; the first time via a defensive stand in the final moments and the second time by a much wider margin. This will be a true test of experience versus youth.

Starting rosters will be made available soon on bcrugby.com

  • UBC v Burnaby Lake, 2:45pm kickofff
  • UVic v Capilano, 2:45pm kickoff

The Rounsefell Cup Final will be on May 9th at Klahanie Park, 2:45pm kickoff. Tickets will be $10 at the gate. Cash only.
