BELLINGHAM, Washington – Trinity Western’s James Linde (Coquitlam, B.C.) finished first in the 200m and Nathan Dunford (Bellingham) topped the pole vault field to lead the Spartans at Western Washington University’s Vernnachia Open at Civic Stadium Saturday.
Linde won the 200m event in 21.46 and also finished fourth in long jump with a mark of 6.79m.
Dunford cleared 4.80m to win the pole vault competition, coming just shy of clearing what would have been a personal best 5.00m mark.
Nick Ayin (Coquitlam, B.C.) also had a strong effort in the 100m, finishing second in 10.90.
The Spartans will now prepare for the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Championships May 1-2 in Rome, Georgia.
