The Intermediate ‘A’ and Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks both racked up home floor wins Saturday.

In the early contest, the Intermediates held a 12-3 lead midway through the second period and held on for a 16-13 victory over the visiting New Westminster Salmonbellies.

Unofficially, Braylon Lumb led the Shamrocks with 8 goals and 1 helper. Marshal King chipped in 2 goals and 5 assists while Eddie Smith and Brad McCulley each had a goal and added 4 and 6 assists respectively. Ben Preston had 5 assists with singles coming from Liam Finnigan, Garrett Wicks, David Byrne and Jake Campbell. The Intermediates, with a 4-0 record, are on the road Sunday and return to the Q Centre next Saturday at 1:30 pm to host the Burnaby Lakers.

In the evening encounter, the Jr. Shamrocks jumped out to a 4-0 lead and goaltender Charles Claxton actually held the visiting Langley Thunder scoreless until the 10:41 mark of the middle period on route to a 15-7 win. It was Ryan Lewis leading the way offensively with 4 goals and 1 assist. Three players chipped in with a pair of goals: Danny Smith, Zac Christianson and Brock Thompson-Marshall, the latter also adding 3 assists for a 5-point night. Other goals came from Tyson Fair, Danny Smith, Sam Tschritter and Adam Jay. The Jr. Rocks get right back at it tomorrow in a rare home double-header. The Delta Islanders will roll into town for a 5:00 Mother’s Day game at the Q Centre. The Rocks improved their record to 3-1 with the win.
