Duncan, BC – The Cowichan Capitals are proud to announce Jesse Neher has committed to play at State University of New York Plattsburgh this fall.

Having finished his Junior career as one of the longest-serving Capitals, the 21-year old Fort St. John native will join the Cardinals who play in the NCAA Division III SUNYAC conference.

A veteran of 226 games, Neher began his BCHL career with the Nanaimo Clippers in the 2011-2012 season before being traded to the Capitals the following year. The veteran winger put up nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 55 games during the 2014-15 season finishing his career with 34 goals, 45 assists, and 106 penalty minutes.

“Jesse is a great team player that has the versatility to play in a lot of different roles,” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Bob Beatty.

“He has skill to contribute offensively and the grit and determination to kill penalties and play in a checking role.”

As alternate captain for the past two seasons with the Capitals, Neher also provided a great deal of leadership for a very young team. The Capitals wish a big congratulations to Jesse and wish him all the best as he begins his college career!
