T-Men Sweep Weekend Series From Arch Rivals Rock

It was like Friday nights game was on reply Sunday night but this time in Nanaimo’s home turf Frank Crane Arena, where the Timbermen would pull away with the 12-9 win against the Victoria Shamrocks in overtime.

The Shamrocks would pull away with the quick two goal lead but it was answered by three unanswered goals by the Timbermen, Brody Eastwood, Cody Bremner and Randy Jones.

Before the end of the first period though Shamrocks would lock the game up at three goals each.

Second period goaltender Zak Boychuk was unstoppable kicking away all 14 shots he faced while Timbermen manged to get three goals past Cody Hagerdorn; Kyle Hofer, Cayle Ratcliff and Mac Johnston all added one each.

Third period was a busy one on all fronts, total of nine goals were scored, Timbermen would get on the board first at 1:21 by Paul Brebber, followed by a Shamrocks flurry of goals, three in total, before Cody Bremner would try and kill the momentum but Shamrocks would score another three unanswered goals to get ahead 9-8.

Timbermens Randy Jones would score at 15:14 to tie the game back up and make this game head to overtime!

In overtime Boychuk again was hot while Timbermen added three goals, Cody Bremner, Mac Johnston and Mitch Parker to take the game 12-9 and go 2-0-0 on the season.

Next game is Sunday, May 31st against the New Westminster Salmonbellies at 7:00PM at Frank Crane Arena.
