Game Notes: For the first time in MasterCard Memorial Cup history three teams have tied for the final playoff position with identical 1-2 records.  The Kelowna Rockets (1-2) have secured a berth in Friday’s Semi-Final as the home team by virtue of having a higher percentage based on the formula [GF/(GF+GA)].

Thursday’s Tie-Breaker Game will feature the visiting Quebec Remparts against the Rimouski Oceanic who will serve as the home team.  This contest will be the 12th Tie-Breaker Game in MasterCard Memorial Cup history.  The first Tie-Breaker Game was played in 1986 in a season that also featured back-to-back games by teams from the host league when the Kamloops Blazers defeated the host Portland Winterhawks by a 6-5 score to force a Tie-Breaker, then defeated them again by an 8-1 score the following night.
