VICTORIA – Known for his iconic beard and lightning fast feet in the middle distance events, American Will Leer is confirmed to be racing the 1500m in the Victoria International Track Classic. The Minnesota native and Nike athlete boasts a speedy personal best of a 3:51.82 mile and a 3:34.26 1500m and will be looking to lower his time in the metric mile on Canadian soil.
Leer will be joined by Canadian 3000m Steeplechase World Championship finalist Matt Hughes who will be looking to get a shorter and quicker race in to tune up for Canadian Championships.
Also in the 1500m mens field, Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) male athlete of the year Ross Proudfoot will be toeing the line with Guelph Speed River teammate Jeremy Rae who is a Notre Dame University Alumni and World University Games silver medalist.
