Intermediate Shamrocks Win; Jr. Rocks Lose

The Intermediate ‘A’ Shamrocks won at home Saturday against the visiting Langley Thunder as they took a 6-1 first period lead and walked away with a 16-10 victory at the Q Centre. The Shamrocks were led offensively by Marshal King with 4 goals and 4 assists. Taylor Martin, BenPreston and Jackson Boyd each had a pair of goals while Brad McCulley chipped in with a goal and 4 helpers. Eddie Smith, Braylon Lumb, Clark Pickup and Nick Murray had the other Victoria goals.

Meanwhile, the Jr. Shamrocks were on the road to take on the Delta Islanders and came up on the losing end of a 12-7 score. Down 4-2 after the first period, the Rocks really weren’t in the game the rest of the way as they fell behind 9-5 after 40 minutes. Jake Cullen had the hat trick for the Shamrocks while Matt Hamilton had a goal and 4 helpers for a 5-point night. McLean Chicquen had 4 assists, Cole Pickup 2 goals and 1 helper with Max Cullen getting the other Victoria goal. The Jr. Shamrocks are back in action Tuesday at the Q Centre to take on their island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen. Game time is 8:00 pm.
