The Team BC athletes enter the Games on a remarkable run of success, with four of the six selected male and female athletes finishing in the top five, together with an outright win in the relay event at the opening round of Triathlon Canada’s Junior National Series.

“The Western Canada Games are an important stepping stone for our young athletes, together with the BC Games, they offer an entry point into the multisport Games experience, and play an integral role in the Canada Summer Games pathway,” said Alan Carlsson, Director Talent Development for Triathlon Canada.

The BC Team hopes to build on past Games’ success, where provincial athletes won eight medals at the 2011 Western Canada Games in Kamloops, BC.

Triathlon competitions begin August 13, with the individual Triathlon event, followed by the 3x Team Relay on Saturday, August 15, before ending with the mixed team relay on August 16
