Westshore Valkyries seek a new Head Coach

The reigning BC Premier Club Champions are looking for a Head Coach for the 2015-2016 season. The club runs 2 women’s teams with a host of current and former National Team and Provincial athletes. The club commences training at its new facility in the Westshore at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre in September. Training will be on the new turf and games will be on the adjacent grass field.

The club seeks a motivated individual to head up this championship team. The club is also open to a joint application from a small coaching group. Individuals applying should be working towards or have Introduction to Competition certification. With the strong contingent of elite level athletes within the club we are looking for a coach with the knowledge and experience to challenge this group. This would include setting stretch targets and implementing a plan accordingly.

Westshore RFC provides an honorarium of $1,000/month for the role and invests in coach development.

Mike and Danielle Pletch are leaving Victoria, moving back to Ontario this summer. Mike has been a big part of the club over the years, both as a player and as a reliable and effective coach for the junior program. He will be missed! They are having an open house tomorrow (Saturday, July 4th) from 2-4 pm to say goodbye to Victoria, and club members are welcome to drop by. They will have some snacks and drinks, and games set up for the kids. The address is 4066 Hodgson Place, near Quadra and McKenzie.
