Jr. Shamrocks made it a weekend sweep

Janice Huckin

The Jr. Shamrocks made it a weekend sweep with a second straight win over the Port Coquitlam Saints Sunday on the mainland by a 9-5 score. The Rocks had previously disposed of the Saints 11-7 at home on Saturday.

Sunday it was Cole Pickup leading the attack with 5 goals and 1 assist. Jake Cullen picked up 2 goals and 3 helpers while McLean Chicquen and Jamie Jensen had the others and Matt Hamilton chipping in a pair of assists. Charles Claxton went 40 minutes to get the win with back-up relief from the newly-acquired Matt Zeller in the final frame. That wraps up the regular season for the Shamrocks. They are awaiting the results of the Delta-Coquitlam and New West-Burnaby games to determine final playoff placing. The playoffs will begin for the Shamrocks next weekend. Dates and times will be provided as soon as they are available.
