BC Bears captain and Canada international Adam Kleeberger announced his retirement on Thursday. Kleeberger was part of Canada’s World Cup team in 2007 and in 2011, where he formed part of Canada’s now famous trio of beardo’s.

“(I’m) proud of my accomplishments and excited for what the future holds,” wrote Kleeberger via Twitter.

After an impressive showing at the 2011 World Cup, Kleeberger’s career was derailed by serious shoulder injuries. He valiantly fought his way back to fitness, however, his most recent attempt to make the Canada squad was not to be.

BC Rugby would like to thank Adam for his leadership and professionalism as captain of the Bears and congratulate him on all his accomplishments with both BC and Canada. We wish him all the best in his post-rugby career.
