Jr. Rocks Down 2-0 in Series

The Jr. Shamrocks are down 2-0 in their best-of-5 semi-final series against the Delta Islanders, losing game 2 on the mainland Sunday by a 7-6 score.

The Rocks were ahead 4-2 after the first, down 6-5 after 2 and each team scored just once in the final period. Delta took game one by a 14-6 score at the Q Centre Saturday. Jake Cullen and Cole Pickup each had a pair of goals and an assist for the Rocks Sunday with McLean Chicquen and Ryan Lewis picking up the others. Charles Claxton was superb in goal, making 47 saves as the Shamrocks were outshot 54-41. Game 3 is set for next Saturday at 5:00 pm at Panorama.

In Intermediate action, the Intermediate ‘A’ Shamrocks won their final regular season game 15-8 also against Delta. They will start their playoffs also next Saturday, July 18 at Panorama. That game is scheduled for a 1:30 pm start and their opponent has yet to be determined.
