Last year it was a strong BC squad that walked away with the championship cup, handily defeating a USA side. A stronger showing by teams from south of the boarder this year would give the U18 BC Gold all they could handle against a deserving Eagles Impact Academy from the USA.

The Eagles, remaining undefeated through day two action, would push their way to the way to the Cup final with a deserving, hard fought win over the Upright Rugby team with a 19-12 win. BC Gold would have to playoff against their own in the BC Blue side, relegating the Blue to play for third with a 34-5 Gold win and a finals berth.

In the final, what started as a sure win for BC, turned table as quick as sevens action is known for.  The Eagles, with two consecutive trys, would force sudden death overtime, deadlocked at 26-26 at full time. A stalwart push by BC to knock the Eagles back to about fifteen metres of the USA try line, would ultimately, after a BC restart, would find room down the sideline.  After beating one defender,  BC would make a diving stab with the ball to cross the line for the winning try with an Eagle player in tow.  BC Gold would come away tournament U18 Elite champions with the 31-26 Cup win.
