Erich Eichhorn (ISN) – With no shortage of Sevens rugby to go around recently this summer, let’s change gears for a moment. After recent back to back gold medal wins for the Men’s and Women’s 7’s sides at the 2015 Pan American games, and locally the Victoria Youth International Sevens Tournament just wrapping up, did you know that there is 15’s international rugby action coming to Vancouver over the next three weeks ?

Starting July 24 the Canadian Men’s 15’s side will look to avenge their 34-25 loss to Japan last year as they embark on another Pacific Nations Cup July 24 in Burnaby against Tonga, July 29th in Toronto in a match against Samoa, and returning to Swanguard Stadium August 3rd to close out the tournament in a triple header where all six teams involved will playoff in front of what is sure to be a packed stadium. Canada will be looking for a better showing this year after a second half let down that let Japan come back from a 25-9 half deficit to steal the match from the host team.

ISN will be in Vancouver with all the final day coverage.

Let’s get warmed up with a look back, in a photo essay, at the 2014 Team Canada match against Japan as captured by ISN photographer Erich Eichhorn.
