Portland Winterhawks fans will be able to get their first look at the 2015-16 team when the annual intrasquad Neely Cup tournament takes place August 27-30 at Winterhawks Skating Center.
This year, with Winterhawks netminder Adin Hill having been selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round of the National Hockey League Draft, the teams have been named in honor of four netminders who were among the highest-drafted goalies in team history: Byron Dafoe, Jason LaBarbera, Scott Langkow and Darrell May, Sr.
Once again this season, due to the popularity of the Neely Cup the games will be ticketed in order to ensure the organization is in compliance with fire codes. There will be 100 four-day passes available for $25 that will allow access to all games, and 50 additional daily passes for $7 which will allow entry to both games on a particular day.
Neely Cup tickets will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Winterhawks’ office at Veterans Memorial Coliseum and by phone at 503-236-HAWK. Fans purchasing tickets in person should note the team’s office has relocated to the main level of the Coliseum adjacent to the elevator, accessible via the arena’s front doors.
The team is expecting most sessions to sell out and fans should purchase their tickets in advance to ensure their spot. The Neely Cup will be the only portion of training camp open to the public. The schedule is as follows:
