Duncan, BC – The Cowichan Capitals are proud to announce Sean Harrison has accepted an NCAA Division I scholarship to Union College.The 19 year-old Alaska native will join his Capitals teammate, Ryan Burton, as both forwards will play for the Dutchmen beginning in the 2016-17 season.”Sean is a heads up, hard working, coachable, 200 foot player that will enjoy a great college career,” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Bob Beatty.
“His hockey IQ and skill set make him a big offensive contributor. We are very pleased to have our second Caps player this off-season receive a scholarship toUnion College.”In his rookie BCHL season, Harrison put up 22 goals and 24 assists for a team leading 46 points with just six penalty minutes. Harrison also led the Capitals in goals and power play goals, and was one of just two players to dress in all 58 regular season games.He also received recognition for his outstanding season winning the team’s Rookie of the Year and Most Sportsmanlike Player awards.
