Craighead Commits to Northern Michigan

Duncan, BC – Cowichan Capitals forward Darien Craighead had accepted an NCAA Division I scholarship toNorthern Michigan University.

The 18 year-old winger is coming off an exceptional sophomore season with 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points in 42 games.  He was tied for second on the Capitals in overall scoring and led the team in points per game.In 91 career BCHL games split between Cowichan and the Langley Rivermen, Craighead has a total of 22 goals and 44 assists for 66 points and 33 penalty minutes.”Darien is a talented player that has the ability to make things happen every time he hits the ice,” said Capitals Head Coach and General Manager Bob Beatty.”He scored timely goals and distributes the puck extremely well.”Set to join the Wildcats in the fall of 2016, Craighead is the fifth member of last year’s Capitals squad to now secure an NCAA scholarship.
