Langford, B.C. –The Westshore Rebels are coming off an offensive explosion last weekend and first victory of the season with a 45-14 win over the Chilliwack Valley Huskers. With 643 net yards on offense, 29 first downs and a record setting 29 pass completions by QB Ashton MacKinnon and 9 different receivers; giving Ashton the nod for BCFC Offensive Player of the Week, the team travels to Langley to try for a similar outcome, where the Rams lost 32-13 dropping their record to 2-2.
Rebels defence had a strong game with Sheldon Mack having a team high 6 tackles, Jordan Goertzen was a close second at 4, Darian Slater had 2 QB sacks and the defence held the Huskers to 14 points.
The Rebels and Rams have 14 players that played together in the offseason on a tier 2 football team in Delta, where they won a Provincial Championship. They will be lining up against each other for the first time. To read more on this story visit our website.
