Kamloops Sun Devils have advanced to the semi finals

Chatham, New Brunswick:  The Kamloops Sun Devils have advanced to the semi finals at the Canadian Senior Men’s Baseball Championships.
The Sun Devils finished the round robin portion of the championships being held at Chatham, New Brunswick on Saturday (Aug 22).

After being rained out on Friday, the Sun Devils took on the champions from Newfoundland and dropped a 3-2 decision and then took their final round robin game over Alberta 2-1.

In the Newfoundland game, Lee Ingram (Penticton, BC) was the losing pitcher. He tossed a three hitter in six innings. Ingram gave up three earned runs, walked three and struck out six.

Evan Douglas (White Rock, BC) was two for three with a run batted in while Ben Bradford (Kamloops, BC) was one for three with a run batted in.

Against Alberta: Shawn Schaefer (Vancouver, BC) was the winner. He threw a three hitter over seven innings giving up a run, walking two and striking out nine.

Luc Simpson (Aldergrove, BC) was one for two with a  double and two stolen bases.  Brendan Reid (Calgary, AB) was one for two with a double and a run batted in.

Kamloops finished first in its pool.

The Sun Devils are made up almost entirely of former and current members of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack.
