WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia University and the men’s basketball head coach Kevin Duffie are pleased to announce the commitment of the Bedford, N.S. native Andrew Scott.
Scott finished out his career at Charles P. Allen High School and will be attending Acadia University in the fall in pursuit of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and as a member of the Acadia Axemen basketball program.
Andrew is a 6’ 6” power forward who has continued to rise as a basketball player in the province of Nova Scotia.
“Andrew has a strong work ethic both athletically and academically and we are excited to see him develop at this level”, commented Duffie.
Acadia’s assistant coach Danny DePalma had the pleasure of coaching Andrew during his freshman and sophomore years at C.P. Allen and noted on Andrew’s ethic, “Andrew is a very eager and hard-working player and he is a big body that brings a consistent effort every day.”
Andrew is excited about his decision to come to Acadia, “I think Acadia is a great fit for me for a number of reasons. I’ve always loved the campus and the town of Wolfville. They have a great business program that I’ve heard only great things about”, said Scott. “I could also tell from talking to coaches and players that the coaches really care about each player’s success not only in basketball but in the classroom.”
The Axemen open the exhibition season at home against the Saint Mary’s Huskies on Thursday, October 8 at 7:00 pm and then travel to Ottawa, Ont. to take part in the annual tournament hosted by the Carleton Ravens during the weekend of October 16-18.
