The University of Saskatchewan Huskie women’s volleyball team is proud to welcome three new recruits to the program.

Setter Jayden Weber from Warman High School, middle Brooke Listwin of Saskatoon’s Holy Cross High School and returning to Saskatoon after playing two seasons at Montana State Northern, libero Sydney Stolearcius will all suit up for the Huskies in 2015-16.

The Huskies finished 5-19 in the 2014-15 Canada West season. Under the guidance of new head coach Mark Dodds, the Huskies look to improve in 2015-16 and make a push to the conference’s postseason.

Jayden Weber, Setter
Hometown: Warman, SK

Previous Teams: Warman High School; 18U Junior Huskies; U16 & 18 Team Sask

Jayden Weber Comments:
“I am looking forward to fulfilling my dream of becoming an athlete with the women’s Huskie volleyball team. I am very fortunate to have been provided with the opportunity to develop my skills through the help of a great coaching staff and by playing with a phenomenal group of dedicated ladies.”

Mark Dodds Comment:

Jayden brings a bright future with her to the setting position with the Huskies. She is a great athlete with a good head on her shoulders to be the leader and quarterback of a team. Looking forward to having her as a part of our program”

Brooke Listwin, Middle
Hometown: Saskatoon, SK
Previous Teams: Holy Cross High School; 18U Junior Huskies; U18, 17, 16 Team Sask

Brooke Listwin Comment:
“Being from Saskatoon it is an honour and a privilege to be apart of the Huskie women’s volleyball program. While playing for a knowledgeable coaching staff and competitively skilled team I look forward to developing into a skilled and complete player.”

Mark Dodds Comment:

“Brooke is a nice addition to our team, bringing a very competitive personality with a great pursuit of excellence. Although slightly undersized for the middle position, Brooke plays bigger than she is, and has a great arm to be an offensive weapon. Looking forward to having her as part of our program”

Sydney Stolearcius, Libero
Hometown: Saskatoon, SK
Previous Teams: Saskatoon Christian School; Montana State Northern (2013,14)

Sydney Stolearcius Comment:
“I would consider the opportunity to play for the Huskies to be somewhat of a second chance and a more exciting one at that. The thought of playing in front of my home crowd and for my home team increases my passion for the game bringing it to a whole new level.”

Mark Dodds Comment:

“Sydney will be joining the Huskies as a libero, and brings a work ethic and passion for the game that is matched by few. Although new to the Huskies, I look for Sydney to bring some of that experience and leadership to a relatively young huskie squad for this upcoming season. Looking forward to having her as part of our program.”
