The West Kelowna Warriors got three power-play goals including an overtime winner from Nick Rutigliano in a 3-2 victory over the Trail Smoke Eaters in exhibition play Friday night.

Connor Sodergren got the Warriors on the board at 7:38 on a 5 on 4 with Quin Foreman and Reed Gunville drawing assists.

Trail would respond with the next two goals just 3:25 apart as Spencer McLean scored on the power-play, followed by a goal by Max Newton at 17:08.

West Kelowna responded just 4:13 into period 2 as Gunville tied the game up, with Sodergren and Tyler Anderson drawing the assists.

There would be no scoring in the 3rd, and after a late penalty to Newton, and a debate amongst the coaches, overtime was decided to be played.

It wouldn’t last long, as Rutigliano’s point shot found its way through on the 4 on 3 for the winner, as Gunville (3-point night) and Foreman (2 A) picked up the helpers.

The Warriors are off to Trail Saturday night to take on the Smoke Eaters at Cominco Arena. You can tune in to all the action with Kyle Anderson atwww.mixlr.com/bchlwarriors with pre-game at 7:25.
